Indians Fastpitch Travel Softball is structured as an alternative to our recreational league without reaching the commitment level of the Independent Club Teams. Travel Softball does require a higher level of commitment than our rec teams but is more manageable than the term "Travel" implies. Following are some differences you can anticipate:
- Winter training - our travel teams begin winter training in December. Team practices occur weekly.
- Outdoor Practices - when the weather breaks, our travel teams typically practice 2x/week prior to season and 1x per week during season
- League Games - Number of league games is similar between Rec/Travel. Drive time to away games is longer for travel
- Competition - level of competition is higher in travel. We compete with other Community based teams in Western Reserve Fastpitch
- Tournaments - our travel teams participate in weekend tournaments at the discretion of coaches. Anticipate 2-4 tournaments per season
- Cost - There is a difference in fees due to uniforms, Tournaments and Winter training. But the value far exceeds the cost.
Our teams compete in the Western Reserve Fastpitch league. The league requires 80% of the team to be residents of the respective community which allows our teams to compete with similarly structured teams.
