The Copley-Fairlawn Athletic Association is a not-for-profit organization comprised primarily of volunteers.  We are focused on providing for the formation, organization, training and development of our community’s youth.  We are committed to providing a fun yet competitive environment whereby the youth of our community may compete and develop general or advanced skills in specific sports, while learning the basic values of teamwork, respect and sportsmanship.  We believe our customers are the parents/guardians and their children who participate in our programs and that we have a responsibility to them to provide safe, fun and instructive programs and an overall enriching experience.

2011 Travel Baseball - Team Rosters

Thanks to all of you who recently participated in our August baseball clinic and 2011 travel baseball team tryouts.  As you know, all of our volunteer coaches and evaluators put in a lot of time reviewing each candidate, reviewing prior statistics and other sources of information in selecting our teams each year.  For those of you who have been selected, congratulations.  For those of you not selected, we thank you for your participation and hard work.  Please continue to grow in your baseball love and skills.  Keep an eye out for our recreational flyer in February 2011.

In our Rec Program, our younger players (coed) begin developing with T-ball (ages 5 and 6). I-league, or coach pitch, is next for boys ages 7 and 8. H-league is for boys ages 9 and 10. It is here that the players begin pitching to each other and playing with rules much closer to today's Little League Rules. G-league is next for our 11 and 12 year old boys followed by F-league for the 13 and 14 year old boys. We also offer E and D -league team for high school age kids.   Akron Athletic Soccer Association and NOGSL- Northern Ohio Girls Soccer League. Our travel soccer teams are called the Copley Cosmos that play in suburban Akron, Medina and Canton, with our home fields right here in Copley-Fairlawn. We have both boys and girls teams that play all the way up to 14 years old! Player placement evaluations for the travel teams are held each June and teams are then formed for both the upcoming fall and subsequent spring seasons.

Softball

Basketball

Our Softball program is extensive and wonderful for the young women in our community. Coach pitch begins with our I-league at ages 7 and 8. After that, the girls compete in the American League (ages 9 and 10). The girls pitch to each other and the competition level is raised a notch.  Just like our other programs, we offer both recreational and higher competition. Travel programs for both boys and girls. Rec teams play in the community while our travel teams play in a suburban league down in Tallmadge. Under the rec program, we rally the players together for 10 Saturdays from December to February.
As they get older, the 11 and 12-year-old girls move on to the National League and at 13 and 14, the Junior League. For those High School ages, we offer the Senior League. With each league change, the rules, fundamentals and competition increase. Generally, the first portion of the weekend sessions are reserved for practice time and development of fundamental skills. After that, it's GAME TIME! Teams are formed for 1st to 6th graders.  Travel teams are formed for 4th to 6th graders with evening practices and games on varying dates. We encourage travel team players to also participate in our Saturday rec program.

Tennis

CAA partners with Midwest Youth Teams Tennis, a USTA affiliated tennis program. Our program runs from June to early August each summer for our younger players, ages 6 to 10. Practices, instruction and matches are played at the Copley HS once a week for 8 consecutive weeks starting in mid-June. Each player receives a shirt, tennis balls, a RACQUET and other fun things.
